There are many reasons why someone might want to seek out counseling; maybe it's the desire to feel less depressed or anxious, to be more connected or understood, or to learn better communication skills in relationship to others. More often than not, the reason a person reaches out to a therapist is because something is out of balance or 'off'. I believe that people have an inherent desire to feel good and that we do the best we can until we learn better ways.
I work with people by helping them to identify core beliefs, things like "I have to be perfect", "I'm worthless", or "It's my job to make others happy". I use a blend of traditional talk therapy, EMDR if appropriate, and teaching new skills. I'm also a trained intuitive practitioner and have experience using shamanic techniques.
I intermittently take on new clients. Feel free to reach out to see if that is currently the case.
