My specialty is teaching an advanced understanding of anxiety (and how it connects to depression and relational distress), and then coaching/supporting the development of a more adaptive, comfortable, present-day skill set. My clients tend to be high-achieving, competent, motivated professionals who privately wrestle with overwhelm, doubt, worry, and exhaustion.
My practice is not a good fit for couples, children/teens, acute crisis, severe chronic depression, active addiction. I do not bill OHP.
I offer individual treatment to Oregon residents, mostly adults ages 30-60. My thirty-year career has primarily focused on direct care, but has also included university-level teaching (receiving an Excellence-In-Teaching Citation); engaging in award-winning research/publication; and independent consultation for trauma-related diagnostic clarification.
I am an active endurance athlete, and have a great fondness for trail running; international marathons; and baking wildly delicious runner's muffins. I'm a huge fan of my adult kids; of my two cats, of Oregon, and of the Philadelphia Phillies!
