Since 1985, I have been privileged to work in this field. My approach is eclectic. First, I listen. What is happening for this person? Emotional pain? Confusion? Are they troubled personally, or is a relationship their concern? Second, I establish goals with them--what they hope to accomplish in counseling. This provides a clear direction.
In my practice, I use a wide variety of approaches to deal with these issues that people face. I draw from my rich training and experience to help individuals deepen their understanding, make critical changes, develop skills and strategies, feel hope and healing, and find peace. I care about my clients--it is a relationship.
