Therapy can provide children a safe and supportive way to learn to identify and express their experiences and feelings; and make progress with social integration, growth, and development. They can develop skills to understand and work through psychosocial challenges. They have the opportunity to gain self-awareness and experience social and emotional success. Creating happiness is what parents strive for when raising children. In my practice, children will learn to identify their strengths, and become more skilled and confident in working through emotional stressors and skill deficits.
I have 25+ years of experience working with children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs. Therapeutic techniques that I utilize target skills and strategies that allow for emotional regulation and social awareness and understanding. I focus on coping/calming tools, social interaction, pro-social communication, and self esteem.
