I am a licensed clinical social worker and have been in practice as a psychotherapist for over twenty-five years. I am interested in your reason for seeking treatment now, what you're experiencing and the events both past and present that prompted you to seek help. Clients come to me with a wide variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, loss of a loved one, relational difficulties with a spouse, child, or aging parent, and conflict in the workplace. Together we craft a treatment relationship and treatment plan that matches your need.
I am skilled in a great variety of treatment methods that include insight-oriented approaches and cognitive-behavioral therapy. I also introduce clients to relaxation strategies, meditation, and mindfulness. In my private practice I see adults in either individual psychotherapy or couples' counseling.
Formerly, I worked as a clinical school social worker for 18 years. In 2011, the RI NASW gave me the award of RI School Social Worker of the Year. I have a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Assumption College and a Masters in Social Work from Simmons College. Current office hours include evenings and Saturday.
