As a Black cisgender female I have experienced racial and gender discrimination, microaggressions, microinsults, microinvalidations, and sexual harassment. This is why I specialize in providing culturally sensitive psychotherapy to BIPOC and other marginalized populations. My education, training, and experience have provided me with a unique understanding of the mental health challenges pertaining to BIPOC and other marginalized populations.
I offer counseling from an Afrocentric culturally sensitive perspective and utilize techniques that focus on the mind, body, spirit connection. Harmony, balance, interconnectedness, cultural awareness, and authenticity are the basic principles of the therapy I provide.
Making the decision to start therapy is not one that is taken lightly, and the decision is one that generally takes a great deal of thought, planning, careful consideration, and courage. I thank you for checking out my Psychology Today profile and applaud you for taking this step toward personal and perhaps generational healing.
