My Passion is with kiddos, adolescents, teens, college-aged, young adults, and adults! I love the people who are just trying their best (Aren't we all!) I absolutely love working with people who are searching for their purpose and full acceptance of who they are. Be yourself and be proud! I consider my job to be a success if I can provide you with a welcoming space where you can find awareness, confidence and ease. Taking time for yourself to really be heard and supported isn’t selfish, it’s essential!

Finding peace in a complex world often involves seeking answers to sensitive and sometimes distressing questions. Unexpected loss, childhood traumas, and relationship distress lead to distress and disconnection from others. My therapeutic work is attachment-based and trauma informed to foster kindness, compassion, and respect for the whole person (mind, body, and spirit). I work with individuals, teens, and couples. I have advanced training in infidelity and affair recovery for couples, betrayal trauma, and partner recovery, as well as the use of EMDR with complex trauma. Additionally I am a Level 3 Gottman Method Therapist.

Acknowledging and addressing traumatic experiences is crucial, yet many tend to downplay their impact. This dismissal can be profoundly painful, undermining the significance of daily struggles and accomplishments. At the core of my approach is the identification and targeting of issues in an empathic, direct, authentic, and compassionate manner – a foundation for lasting change. This inclusive approach extends to survivors of childhood abuse, individuals experiencing symptoms of C-PTSD and dissociative disorders, and athletes facing recurring or traumatic physical injuries, all who benefit from being heard and seen without judgment.

I have worked with adolescents and young adults for about 15 years, and recognize what pivotal developmental years these are. I specialize in working with middle and high school students, couples, and young adults. I mostly work with clients who are dealing with relationship issues, depression, anxiety, or significant life decisions. I am Prepare-Enrich certified and can offer helpful tools to couples who wish to do premarital counseling. I believe that my clients are the experts of their own stories, and am honored to get to walk alongside them as they learn more about themselves and seek to re-write parts of their story.

Life is busy, demanding, and exhausting. Waking up to an endless to-do list and running out of time feels all too real. Pushing through the day on autopilot is a common theme in your life. Living with high standards and aiming for perfection means things are never quite good enough. Pretending you have it all together takes a lot of work. Trying to please everyone in your life leaves no time to relax. The pressure often feels too much; you shut down. There can be a way, even when the answers are unclear; I will help you.

Are you stressed out or anxious? Does it feel like your marriage is struggling? Are you struggling to get through the day? Have you tried to solve the problems in your life on your own and realized you need help from someone else? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you have made the right choice by being here. And I know this is hard. You’ve likely been debating seeking help for months, if not years. But I’m so glad you found me and have taken the courageous step of being here.

Are you hoping to feel better but not sure where to start? Therapy can help! Having the ability to seek support during a difficult time is a sign of strength. It is okay to admit that doing it alone is no longer working. Therapy is tool that can be used to help you work through difficulty and feel more empowered and balanced. I work most frequently with those dealing with anxiety, depression, transition, burnout, and grief. Areas of interest include trauma, fertility, parenthood, work related stress, and life transitions.

Trauma and adversity can get us stuck in harmful beliefs and habits that – while useful for survival – may not serve us in healthy relationships and a safe environment. I recognize that creating a safe, non-judgmental space to identify and process the complexities of trauma and being human is essential for healing and growth. You are not your trauma, and your trauma does not need to define what your life looks like.

You are self-aware, self-reflective and have done a lot of your own work already, yet find yourself falling into the same overwhelming or depressive patterns. Therapy can address the deeper patterns we often learn in childhood and release old unfulfilling patterns making way for a more authentic way of life in the here and now. What makes you come alive? What's still holding you back? I am interested in getting to know you, your unique history, struggles and strengths and supporting you in becoming a more joyful and dynamic version of yourself.

I have a passion for helping people embody and cherish their truest selves and develop long-lasting, healthy relationships. In therapy, my goal is to partner with clients to help them achieve their personal goals and move towards their most fulfilling life. We have lived through challenging times, with Covid and the ways it has changed how we live, to social and political divides and economic hardships. And of course, every person has been affected in different ways, to varying degrees by these changes. I know that it is not always easy to come to the realization that we may need help with what life throws at us, and that we have often been raised to feel that we should be strong enough to handle whatever comes our way on our own. However, I sincerely feel that everyone needs some extra help now and then, particularly these days as we deal with unprecedented obstacles in our lives.

How can I find a therapist in Centennial?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
