Shannon is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Expressive Arts Therapist with over a decade of experience helping children, adolescents and adults heal and manage anxiety, depression, trauma and life changes. She has deep understanding of how to transform suffering into strength by using skilled inquiry in talk therapy as well as the creative process. Clients can better understand themselves and their potential by using various forms of self-expression in addition to talk therapy that may include art making or body oriented therapies that are designed address complex and difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Sessions begin with a check-in. You may have had homework from the previous session or a theme you and Shannon are focussing on together. You'll use talk therapy and/or amke art to process. You can also learn Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Mindfulness skills to help manage daily struggles. Sessions are meant to be playful but meaningful.
