Quality counseling depends on a high quality relationship between therapist and client. I believe a quality relationship is one defined by trust, warmth, empathy - and a bit of laughter now and then! While I maintain a high level of professionalism, a good therapeutic relationship can also feel like letting your hair down with a good friend over a cup of coffee. I have 13 years experience counseling individuals, couples, and families, and teaching at the graduate level; I love this field! I am EMDR trained and have a strong background with career stress, Christian counseling, aging, trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, divorce adjustment and chronic pain/medical conditions.
I believe human beings are wired to heal; sometimes we lose sight of this, especially in the face of loss, challenges, trauma and even our own protection mechanisms. A key component of my role is to help identify and tame the overgrown parts of our path to find our way again.
