There are many misconceptions about what it means to be in therapy. Anyone can benefit from therapy regardless of what walk of life they come from. It does not mean that you are broken, weak or crazy. What it does mean is that you are up for the challenge of confronting harmful beliefs, habits, and communication styles so that you can live a life that is authentically yours. Our mental health shows itself in all areas of our lives: relationships, perception, management of daily life, sense of self, and our ability connect to our emotions and body.
My passion has been empowering adult survivors of childhood trauma to heal themselves and their inner child. I use a bottom-up approach starting with somatic experiencing (how we feel in our bodies) building up to cognitive restructuring (reframing maladaptive thoughts). I am certified in Traumatic Stress Studies by the Trauma Research Foundation.
