It is not uncommon in this day and age to feel overwhelmed. Life can be stressful and many people exhaust themselves trying to keep up. The constant pressure can make it difficult to slow down and prioritize your needs and when you do, you think you're being selfish. Or maybe you think you aren't "normal" and start having thoughts like "Why can't I just get my shit together?!". This creates a cycle of guilt, shame and self loathing that can be difficult to break. What if there was a path for you to stay motivated and successful, without degrading your self esteem in the process?
Self esteem issues are often at the core of anxiety. I believe that self compassion and acceptance go a long way in managing the emotional roller coaster of anxiety. I use a blend of CBT and mindfulness techniques to help clients see harmful patterns. I work best with clients who are looking for a long term and supportive ear.
