Welcome! I'm Shannon, a Resident in Counseling and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. I have experience working with adults and adolescents with various mental health struggles and substance abuse or addiction. I work with individuals, couples and families. I love to help people sort through whatever struggles they're having, and identify ways to cope and have a more fulfilling life. Mental illness and addiction are really hard, but it is possible to get better. I'd love to take that journey with you.
Therapy is never one size fits all. I use a trauma informed, person centered approach and have experience with various treatment modalities. Some that I commonly use include CBT, DBT and EMDR. I also value cultural competence and provide therapy though this lens, recognizing the impact that cultural factors can have on our mental health and wellbeing.
I know it's hard to reach out for help. Even looking for a provider can be overwhelming! If you feel like we might be a good fit, give me a call or send me an email and we'll schedule a free 15 minute consultation. I look forward to hearing from you!
