Shannon Couture, PhD, Psychologist in Pasadena
Do you struggle with constant worry and perfectionism? Does anxiety affect your ability to connect with others and your life in a meaningful way? Are you going through a current life transition or stressor with which you are struggling to adapt? Through my years providing therapy and supervising students who are learning how to become therapists, I have developed an expertise in these areas. My approach is to begin with a comprehensive intake assessment that allows us to get to know one another. By the end of the intake, I provide you with some idea about where we will go.
I specialize in chronic worry, perfectionism, and coping with life changes and stressors. I offer science-based treatments for anxiety disorders (e.g., social anxiety, OCD, panic disorder), including exposure. In addition, I have experience working with individuals in creative fields, including film & television, and individuals who identify as LGBT.
I have a small private practice in Pasadena in addition to my full time position as a clinic director at the University of Southern California. As clinic director, I teach graduate and undergraduate students at USC, and supervise Ph.D. students in learning the fundamentals of therapy.
