From our first phone call, my priority is building a genuine, safe, and unique relationship with you. I'm passionate about men’s mental health, LGBTQ clients, and anyone who's ready to journey deep into the root cause of what brings them to counseling. I often work with anxiety, trauma, panic, OCD, persistent depression, domestic abuse and violence, addictive behaviors, sex and pornography concerns, self-harm, and self-discovery. But before I see any of the issues on this list, I see you as a fellow human being. Our therapeutic relationship is at the core of every insight, skill, or change that might result from our work together.
When someone meets you with complete acceptance, it is harder for shame, avoidance, or apathy to get in the way of a meaningful life. My approaches guide you to embrace the full range of your emotions. Your distress is not a sign of weakness, stigma, or wrongdoing. I believe that through better understanding yourself, you can re-discover your own resilience.
Our sessions might feel comforting, humorous, vulnerable, or challenging. Most of all, they are yours. Though you may want to make changes to reach your goals, I am not judging you or wishing you were different than however you are right now. Whether it's your first or hundredth counseling session, I honor the courage it takes to reach out.
