Welcome to Shifa Therapy LLC, a space for healing. I offer services that center the Global Majority in NJ, NY, and PA, especially BIPOC folks within the LGBTQIA+ community. My goal as your therapist is for you to be seen and understood as you are. No code-switching necessary. Throughout the process, I will invite you with patience and compassion, going at your pace as you build new adaptations toward thriving. At times, we may draw upon the past to increase awareness, overcome unresolved issues, foster authenticity, and restore wholeness.
As a queer person of color, my practice offers an affirming, antiracist, and anti-oppressive space for adults and teens navigating the stress, adversity, and trauma of life. My approach integrates somatic practices, parts work, traditional talk therapy, race, culture, identity, a liberatory lens, as well as systemic, collective, and sociopolitical realities.
Starting therapy can bring up strong emotions and sensations. Take comfort in having intentional time, space, and support to pause, listen to your body, and meet your needs. Let's work together on your growth. I look forward to meeting you!
