Hi, my name is Shahzad Chaudhry, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Bakersfield, California. I prefer seeing patients in person but also work comfortably with patients throughout the state via telehealth. My primary focus for treatment is for children, adolescents, and adults dealing with OCD and anxiety disorders, but I also find my background to be well-suited to assist patients dealing with immigration, familial, and cultural issues, especially with those from South Asian (e.g., Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, etc.) communities.
I prefer to work with young adult patients but feel comfortable with those ranging in age from age 5-years-old to 60+. I enjoy helping patients develop active and effective goals for treatment, and then to recognize their capability to achieve these goals, thereby allowing them to improve their day-to-day functioning.
I want patients to feel comfortable, relaxed, and able to openly address topics that may be rather difficult at times. I also like to challenge patients to better understand their functioning, actively apply reviewed strategies, and work on personal growth, all the while feeling heard, supported, and accepted for their concerns without judgment.
