Emotional pain can often be debilitating; however because it is not as tangible as physical pain it is often suppressed or dismissed. Whether it presents itself in the form of anxiety, depression, grief, or relationship issues, emotional pain may be managed by applying the proper means of treatment. Understanding and identifying the patterns of the experienced symptoms can serve as the first step to emotional relief. In doing so, I use top-down techniques as: Jungian analysis and dream interpretation as well as bottom-up techniques such as: EMDR, brain spotting, and somatic experiencing.
My clinical work has focused on a broad spectrum of issues, ranging from relational and sexual issues to anxiety, depression, trauma, identity crises, and bicultural challenges. My main focus in therapy is helping individuals understand why they engage in the behaviors that they do and how they can bring about change.
My own multicultural experiences have contributed to my passion for understanding issues related to cross cultural psychology. I have a strong interest in helping people integrate their limitations and strengths into their identity by re-authoring their life story in a manner that allows them to reach their full potential.
