Stuck in a rut? There's a way out. I specialize in sex therapy and trauma. I have extensive experience in individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy. I use methods that examine the root causes of behavioral and emotional patterns which lead to depression, anxiety, alcohol dependence, substance abuse, thought distortions, relationship attachments, erectile dysfunction, or vaginal anesthesia. Where medication is ineffective, intensive therapy sessions have the power to change the paralyzing state of our psychological and physical condition. The causes may be situational, easily detected, but others may be deeper, stored in our rigidified muscles, buried in the remote recess of our minds.

I have been providing mental health and substance abuse treatment for 23 years. By utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I assist my clients with exploration of their thoughts and feelings and how these impact behavior. I encourage my clients to explore their beliefs and world view and identify maladaptive coping skills. The goal is to develop a healthy lifestyle. Together we explore how each individual adopted his or her current lifestyle, what needs they were attempting to fulfill, and how and what they would like to change. Through the therapeutic relationship individuals become empowered to create a new life narrative.

I hold a doctorate degree in clinical psychology and have post-graduate training, as well as special interest, in addressing sexual issues, relationship difficulties, and struggles with life transitions.

As a practitioner, my primary goal is establishing a safe and open space for patients to explore and self-disclose. With 20 years of experience in working with adults and adolescents struggling with a variety of mental health and/or addiction concerns, my experience and scope of expertise is broad-ranging. Over time, I have assisted hundreds of clients with complex emotional, relationship addiction & work/life issues.
