As an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist as well as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist- Supervisor, I am dedicated to helping you identify and overcome any intimacy challenges within the sex therapy realm, including sex/love addiction. This encompasses behaviors such as desire discrepency, successive unfulfilling relationships, affairs, excessive internet porn usage and intimacy anorexia. I also am a Certified Partner of Sex Addicts Specialist, and through a trauma based model, am able to help the Partner work through their own painful experience of loving and being involved with someone with out of control sexual compulsivity.

I work with individuals/couples on relationship and sexual issues. Sexual and emotional satisfaction is nearly inseparable for both men and women! The defensiveness that damages relationships is often the same behavior that controls vulnerability and intimacy in the bedroom. Simple awareness of learned beliefs or unhelpful fears can create the space a healthy couple needs to heal. Sex and emotional connection shouldn't wait on the backburner until life gives us a break - emotional and sexual expression should mirror life! Lynette Abler MA, LMHP is a licensed mental health professional and independent contractor at The Cord; Where Science Meets Connection. She works with children, teens and adults. She works with individuals and families struggling with conflict or past trauma in their life. She uses a nurturing, therapeutic approach with her clients that is very inviting. Her soft demeanor and sense of compassion towards her clients helps to empower them, and helps them through their difficult life experiences. Her sense of empathy and her intuitive nature helps to guide clients to where change is possible, in a nonjudgemental and accepting way.
