I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist who has been in practice for over fifteen years. I have experience as a special education teacher and public-school administrator. I have a wealth of experience providing progressive therapeutic strategies and interventions to change personal and/or family situations, solve problems, and/or simply bring a healthier balance to individuals’ lives. Being a single parent and working mom, I understand, firsthand, the joys and struggles of living in this society and parenting children today.

The mission of Lifestyle Consultant Services is to improve the quality of mental health and substance abuse services by reducing stigma and by protecting the rights of the individual who suffers from mental illness and/or substance abuse. By identifying the pain and suffering experienced by citizens in our community and addressing them with care, we aim to strengthen and promote health and well being. Suboxone is the combination of buprenorphine (partial opioid agonist) and naloxone (opioid antagonist - Narcan). The combination is either 2 mg/0.5 mg or 8 mg/2 mg. Suboxone is a sublingual film (it dissolves under the tongue).

I am experienced with adolescents, disabled veterans, homeless individuals and families, developmentally disabled adults, Individuals, Couples, Teens,Children, and Families of trauma. Treatment includes Group Home settings, Residential Treatment Facilities, In-Patient, homeless shelters, and in the family home I am a certified a Trauma Specialist, I've received training in Gambling addiction, and have completed several hours in Transactional Analysis/Re-decision Therapy at the South East Institute in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I have been trained in Sexual Offender Treatment and Assessment with upcoming Certification 2016. I have expertise in grief and loss, launching, and communication improvement within the family structure.

I believe that every problem has a solution and that solution lies within the person that is experiencing the problem. Life is to be enjoyed and if you are not enjoying your life it could be because of distractions. It is those distractions that sometimes causes us to feel overwhelmed, unhappy, frustrated and sometimes empty. My goal as a therapist is to help you explore those distractions and become the best version of yourself.

A collaborative treatment and/or goals plan is created based on the information you provide and my assessment of your emotional, mental, physical, social, spiritual, economic, and career characteristics. I will need your continual input as we identify issues to be addressed within the counseling session. Open and honest communication between counselor and client is imperative to a successful therapeutic relationship.

Starting therapy can be an intimidating process. My desire as a counselor is to provide a safe, supportive environment where you are free to be your authentic self and explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. Together, we will investigate your wants and needs, the thoughts that trouble you, and the life experiences that have impacted you.
