Relationships are central to my work, whether it be the relationship between a child or adult and myself, or the complex web of relationships within a family. My training and experience in Infant Mental Health--a type of therapy focusing on the attachment relationship between a primary caregiver and and an infant or young child--permeates all aspects of my work. I believe that therapy cannot separate an individual from the context of his or her relationships, past or present. I am creative and flexible in my approach to working with the children, teens, adults and families that I serve.

I have been in practice as a Psychotherapist for over 25 years working with adults, children, and adolescents, as well as families and couples. My aim is to help my clients address important issues in their lives and find new ways to make meaningful changes. I have worked in hospital settings, as well as outpatient mental health clinics. My clinical experience includes the treatment of mood disorders, depression/bipolar disorders, anxiety, anger management, family and marital relationship issues, grief and trauma, school difficulties, ADHD, and behavioral problems. I coordinate care with physicians, schools, employers, and the legal system and can administer the MMPI as needed.

I am dedicated to working with children, adolescents, young adults and their families. My specialize in working with those who are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, loss, and trauma. I also work with young people diagnosed with Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, ADHD and behavioral disorders. In my work I am creative and person centered. I believe that when working with children and youth, effective engagement is critical; therefore my work includes play therapy, game play and hands on activities to help children express their feelings and identify healthy coping strategies. I also provide support and education to parents to help meet their child's needs.

For 30+ years I have worked with people struggling with depression, anxiety, marital, family, child, career/work, military and trauma issues. I help them better understand themselves, those around them and how they can get the outcomes they want. People who talk to me feel understood and respected.
