Hello! Welcome to Healing Byrd Therapy. I am a therapist that works from a systemic approach believing that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Individuals that have experienced domestic violence, sexual exploitation, abuse, sexual trauma or racialized trauma will find that my approach is compassionate, non-judgmental, unbiased and culturally competent.

I love the counseling that I do. For the last fifteen years I have been a witness to the courage, tenacity, and resiliency of my clients as they strive to improve their personal lives and relationships in their families. I am convinced that much of our life is determined by the lens that we choose to look through. I also believe counselors are most successful when they also have a healthy lifestyle and live the principles that they teach to their clients. I believe that when you meet me that you will find me to be grounded, healthy, and authentic.

I am currently working on developing my private practice at Safehaven Counseling Center where we take an integrated holistic approach to emotional, physical, and spiritual health. As you make your way through life, I am here to provide a compassionate, warm, non-judgmental space for you to better understand yourself and the journey that God has set before you. I enjoy working with people as an educator, a coach and a psychotherapist. I work with medical providers to help alleviate mood disorders or organic illnesses. I enjoy people from all ages and walks of life and do a lot of couples therapy.
