Hi, I'm Courtney. I am Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), and am EMDR trained. I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, and helping them to heal the effect trauma has in a person's nervous system and life. I have served in a wide range of clinical settings, working on an inpatient unit for trauma and eating disorders, in residential programs for sexual exploitation, human trafficking, and addictions, as well as the private practice setting.

Entering psychotherapy doesn't need to be intimidating or scary! It does require a trusting and open relationship. I use my own experiences and education along with everything you bring to sessions to create a trusting,engaging and warm environment. My passion is to help people who have experienced any type of trauma; such as divorce, grief and loss, PTSD, and adults survivors who grew up with domestic violence. During my practice, I found that Toxic Masculinity is maybe the biggest contributor to psychological issues in men. So, I started the only group for Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse in Northern Georgia.

Brainspotting is a powerful, flexible, client-centered therapy that goes more deeply and quickly into our stored memories than other therapies. These stored memories are called brain spots. We change the negative ones. After looking for the most effective counseling technique which was also cost efficient for clients, I chose Brainspotting. Brainspotting is based on EMDR but I find BS is best for pinpointing the individual harmful memories which negatively interfere with our lives. The Brainspotting process enables the client to identify and resolve the roots of traumatic or troubling issues.
