I specialize in providing individual and family therapy with a focus on childhood trauma and its resulting symptoms, such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, and Anxiety. Childhood trauma can be anything from relational trauma stemming from difficult relationships with caregivers, to domestic violence, to physical and sexual abuse. Some symptoms of trauma may include low self esteem, codependency issues, insomnia, nightmares, phobias, lack of adequate coping skills, and physical symptoms such as headaches and chronic pain. I also have experience working with grief and bereavement, and embrace working with spirituality and meaning of life issues.

There are various obstacles life presents to us that leave us with many emotions to process. At Oasis Psychological services, I conduct psychological evaluations for individuals ages 8-65, psychosexual evaluations for juveniles and adults with sexual behavior problems, and assessments for juveniles with delinquency and/or substance abuse issues. I also conduct disability evaluations. Oasis Psychological Services offers therapy for a wide range of mental health problems as well as specialized services for juveniles with sexual behavior problems. In her high school senior English class Tonya was given an assignment to research colleges and majors. Through this assignment she learned about the field of social work and realized that she could combine her love of children and helping others into a career. This led Tonya on the road to getting her Social Work degree. She graduated with her AA degree in Social Work and then attended Arizona State University where she earned her Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Social Work.

I am specialized in working with victim trauma, general mental health problems, substance abuse, chronic behavioral health problems, and youth with sexually maladaptive behavior issues.
