We provide in person counseling services in our Tuscaloosa offices and telehealth services to individuals residing in the state of Alabama. AS PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS... we love our children unconditionally. Unfortunately, our love, no matter how great, does not always translate into a clear set of guidelines that tells us how to handle difficult behaviors, how to deal with the peer and social issues of this generation, how to help our children heal from trauma or abuse, or simply how to get our children to talk to us. As a psychotherapist and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, I treat a wide range of sexual, relationship and intimacy issues. I work with individuals and couples. Sex is one of the deepest and most powerful experiences we have and it can also be a source of great stress and shame when things do not go as smoothly as we would like. Cultural messages and biases can further compound these issues. I provide a safe and nonjudgemental environment for individuals or couples to discuss these issues.

Emily Wilson, M.S. Ed., LPCC (she/her/hers) earned her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Dayton. Emily has experience working with adults, adolescents, and families. She has worked with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, sexual abuse, substance abuse, developmental trauma, bipolar disorder, grief and loss, and other life stressors. Emily is also experienced in and passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ community and providing an affirming environment.

I believe that connection is the heart of counseling. My goal is to create a space where clients can feel safe being vulnerable. I want to empower my clients to be their truest, most genuine self while equipping them with the tools they need to make lasting positive change in their life.

Hello. I'm Tori. I'm so glad you are here. As a professional counselor, my goal is to help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings, feel less alone, and create the changes you want in yourself. I‘ll work with you in a compassion, collaborative way to overcome the roadblocks that you struggle with even if they seem overwhelming. I specialize in working with clients dealing with anxiety, trauma (especially sexual abuse/assault and relationship violence), PTSD, grief, and gender identity. I am LGBTQ affirming. I work from a social justice and feminist framework. I am a CCTP Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.

I have worked primarily with adults and children who have survived trauma, including but not limited to sexual assault, family abuse, domestic violence, and human trafficking. I use various methods of self-expression, including play, art, creative writing, etc., to aid each client in therapeutic processing. I encourage clients to create goals that are specific to their concerns/needs. I utilize a holistic counseling approach that emphasizes the mind, body, and spirit. It is my objective to motivate the client to look beyond mental/emotional angst and explore the needs of their entire being.
