I am an Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and a former professional (soccer) coach (18+ years) & athlete (lifetime). My unique background and experiences have provided me with a deep understanding of & compassion for those struggling w/ EDs, SA, trauma and related issues. Before graduate school (NYU '10), where I specialized in trauma & substance abuse, I coached collegiately for several years, devoting a significant amount of time to helping student athletes seek professional help for mental health issues like eating disorders, depression & anxiety
Combining my previous professional experience as a club & collegiate coach -- witnessing first-hand the effects of rising expectations & pressures on student athletes -- along w/ my experience as a clinician working in the ED & SA fields, I enjoy the therapeutic process of empowering clients to overcome their own life's struggles.
In addition to working privately with individuals and groups, I'm a long-time volunteer as a group facilitator for the Eating Disorder Resource Center's (EDRC's) Thursday night (weekly) Body Image & ED support group now held in the waiting room. Finally I'm the former Clinical Director at Cielo House Adolescent Treatment (IOP/PHP) for Eating Disorders.
