Oftentimes, "counseling" has a negative connotation - counseling is for people who have something "wrong" with them, or it's for people too weak to handle their problems on their own. I don't buy that. We live in a hurried and difficult world. Pain and confusion seem to shadow us wherever we go. Sometimes our relationships slip. Sometimes we find ourselves puzzled about meaning and purpose. Sometimes we just need someone to help us make healthy choices. I have over 14 years of experience working with teens and adults. My passions include providing affirming care to the transgender and nonbinary community (ages 14+) and treating sexual and other trauma, including complex PTSD. I do this with an eclectic approach, borrowing techniques and theory from several different areas (DBT, IFS, EMDR, Humanism and psychoeducation). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Board Approved Supervisor based in Houston, Texas. I am also licensed in the state of Virginia. I provide Telehealth/virtual sessions for Virginia residents. It is my desire to provide a safe environment where individuals are able to grow through the process of counseling.
