I've worked with those in addiction and recovery and their families. I have experience with individuals battling pornography and porn addiction and sex therapy with couples. I also offer premarital counseling, EMDR, DBT, and conflict resolution.

Beginning counseling can be a difficult, sometimes scary step. I want to walk that journey with you. I believe in a therapeutic relationship that fosters trust and respect. I desire to help you find health and wholeness through finding balance in your mental, physical, and spiritual health. You will find a safe, nonjudgmental atmosphere when you enter my office. I enjoy working with people. At times we all think about a past mistake, a missed opportunity, or an undesirable choice. But if you are constantly looking back with a nagging and paralyzing sense of regret, you may not be able to see or enjoy what is good about your life today. If you are looking in the rearview mirror of life, you are not living in the present, and you may have given up on the future. If you have experienced trauma and feel stuck, whether it occurred recently or a long time ago, there is a way forward although you may not see the steps through which to change your life for the better.

Personal life experiences have inspired me to help others. I have developed a deeper understanding and empathy for others that experience difficult times. I have experience working with clients that have experienced significant loss and trauma. Physical health and mental health problems, often, develop when an individual experiences high level of stress. Depression and other mental health problems may occur when individuals and families experience multiple issues. Some issues may include separation, divorce, and loss of a loved one.

Therapy is more than talking about the past. It is a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere in which past hurts are resolved and healing takes place. Traumatic experiences can serve as blocks, preventing present and future peace.  At Wilkinson Family Therapy, we enjoy connecting with our clients as they travel along their journey. Clients utilize my testing and evaluation services to determine the nature of their learning difficulties and to develop a treatment plan tailored to help them overcome these difficulties. Many clients receive counseling to help them to improve their school or work performance and to improve their self-esteem. Referrals are made to medical doctors if medications are deemed necessary (i.e., for ADHD, depression, etc.). Also, I am passionate about helping others with various emotional difficulties, relationship problems, and improving general life satisfaction through individual, family, and group therapies.

I work with clients from all walks of life. My prefered method of therapy is to get at the root cause of an issue and to provide symptom managment to decrease the impact of mental health issues for my clients.
