I have helped many people who have experienced emotional, physical, and/or sexual abuse.
I truly believe anyone can make a life worth living no matter where they start or where they want to go. If you want to make a change and need support, let me provide an individualized place of acceptance where healing and growth can happen. I work from a systems perspective, which recognizes not only your unique inner self, but how your environment and the systems you exist in profoundly affect your life.

I specialize in treating trauma, particularly childhood sexual abuse, men's issues, relationship difficulties, and working with high-performers and ambitious professionals, such as C-Suite executives, athletes, and artists.
I firmly believe that internal change precedes external change; my way of engaging you in therapy is designed to help you look within for the answers and find healthier ways of relating. I help individuals get more in touch with their inner world, therefore learning to recognize and express thoughts and feelings more effectively. In gaining a better understanding of yourself, you are likely to acquire more adaptive communication abilities, manage emotions better, and begin to feel increasingly confident in your decisions.

Currently treating: Anxiety, OCD, phobias, trauma, sexual abuse, relationships, depression, career change, toxic relationships, healthy boundaries and more.
Your largest fear carries your greatest growth. If you're searching for that one person that will change your life, look in the mirror. Our fatigue is often caused NOT by school or work, but by worry, frustration & resentment. The real cause of problems is not life itself, it's the commotion the mind makes about life that really causes the problem. Tired of overthinking? Tired of not having movement in your life? Feel stuck? Battling intrusive thoughts? Anxiety or depression draining you? Having a hard time deciding which way to go? You can choose to stay where you are, or you can choose to get help. Call me when you're ready!

You find yourself dealing with life in ways that are not healthy, appropriate, or adaptive. You function with high levels of stress, leading to more conflicts, more anger, guilt and shame, and more stress. You start to believe that something is wrong with you, that you are a bad person, that you are not worthy of love. You feel trapped. Unresolved or disturbing memories, childhood maltreatment, and traumatic events shape the ways you view the world and the ways you view yourself. But trust me: you do not have to be scripted by your past. You can leave your past in the past and own back your life.

My concierge practice developed from 32 years of experience and work with thousands of patients. My passion is helping people break self-defeating patterns and be able to embrace the life each person desires. The treatment is psychoanalytic and spiritual in nature and requires a deep commitment by both the therapist and the patient. Therapy is designed to heal the past, remove the blocks, and work through resistance. This process requires the willingness to stay engaged in the process until treatment is complete.

All of us, over the course of our lives, have found ourselves faced with challenging life events - some small and others so much bigger than ourselves that we become overwhelmed and unable to face them alone. We may experience feelings of grief, loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, family conflicts, marital strife, illness, or addiction to mention a few. However, what is most important is that we not face these alone, and remember there is help and relief. Each one of us has a sense of resiliency to meet our life challenges - even in our worst times. Finding that resiliency is the beginning to healing and living our best lives.

Most of us have learned that “there are no free passes in life.” We are all vulnerable to life’s curveballs. But sometimes we get tired of fielding them by ourselves. That’s where I come in…. Perhaps you, or a loved one, is struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, loss, trauma, or abuse, among other concerns. It does not matter how overwhelming the problem is, healing and growth are always possible. We will work collaboratively by combining your knowledge of the situations you confront, with my professional experience in the healing process of counseling. You’ll see - the possibilities are remarkable.

Wouldn't it be great to just feel normal? Dealing with mental health issues on your own is the most exhausting experience on the planet. Together, we can explore what's making you feel so drained. I specialize in relational therapy. This means we will look at how you relate to yourself as well as to others and focus on revamping your attachments. Attachments exist between people of course, but we also become attached to behaviors, activities, emotions, and places — some of which are good for us and some of which harm us. My goal is to help you reach the fullest expression of your authentic self by learning the difference.

This is a very unsettling time for many and being able to help my clients find their footing in such an uncertain time is my passion. I work with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and trauma. My approach is to provide a safe, nonjudgemental space for growth to occur. I am comfortable working with clients who have struggled with past therapists and feel as if they are unable to use their voice or feel lost. I am comfortable working with individuals and couples, and often explore and help resolve maladaptive patterns, cognitions, and intimacy issues that many people struggle with.

I specialize in helping and guiding seasoned executives better manage chronic stress so they can avoid burnout, due to their grueling schedules and unrelenting corporate pressures. Together, we'll unveil and alter destructive thought patterns and flawed coping mechanisms (i.e. like substance abuse & alcohol). Therapy can also empower you to master your anxieties. Unshakable success on the surface may sometimes conceal self-esteem struggles and impostor syndrome, which we can overcome. My expertise aids in rebuilding confidence, while acknowledging past impact. Through therapy you'll find constructive outlets to reset and thrive.

In the broadest terms, my practice centers on the idea of helping you to establish or restore greater authenticity--a more authentic voice, space of desire and trajectory of drive/motivation. This can be addressed through more short-term approaches that focus primarily on the present, or a deeper approach that considers and works through past experiences as they inevitably impact the present in ways not always available to consciousness. By uncovering these occluded forces left over from the past and lingering in the present, you will be able to develop broader insight and live more fully with greater intention.

Sexual Abuse Therapists

How do therapists treat sexual abuse?

A good therapist will be nonjudgmental and possibly demonstrate active listening, repeating back what the client says to show that they have understood. These skills allow people to feel comfortable discussing their traumatic experiences openly. Some important treatment goals are to restore a sense of safety and to rebuild confidence. In addition to working one-on-one with the patient, a therapist might bring in supportive family members to assist the client.

Do you have to talk extensively about sexual abuse in therapy?

Survivors frequently find it difficult to describe what happened to them out loud. They can even still be in a state of denial if the sexual abuse occurred recently. It is important for survivors to acknowledge that what happened isn’t their fault and to challenge and reappraise any unhealthy feelings or thoughts as they arise. Art therapy and play therapy are useful non-verbal means of communication for some survivors.

How long does treatment for sexual abuse take?

Recovery from sexual abuse can be a long and difficult process. Some survivors are able to move on naturally on their own, given time, while others require the guidance of a trained therapist. Therapy needs vary and can range from a few sessions to months or even years. Healing from sexual abuse takes time, and everyone’s journey will look a little different.

Can trauma symptoms caused by sexual abuse come back after treatment?

As occurs in many cases of trauma, survivors of sexual abuse may experience PTSD-like symptoms long after the abuse has ceased or after an initial round of treatment has occurred. In such a case, there is evidence that prolonged exposure therapy is a useful treatment for survivors, and may be more efficacious than supportive counseling alone. While triggers may continue to cause distress, the idea is that, with time and repeated exposure, their power will fade, allowing survivors to move on with their lives.
