The Center for Sexual Assault Survivors provides crisis counseling to individuals and groups that have experienced sexual violence/assault. Our Crisis Counselors have experience in treating adults, children, and adolescents with diverse backgrounds and areas of concern. Using evidence-based and clinically tested interventions, we work with individuals and groups on topics including trauma, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, communication, and healthy relationships. We are here to provide support and empowerment for change.

People struggle with so many life challenges from personal decisions, decisions of others that affect us, life transitions, and just stressors of the world we live in. Clients that are ready to do the hard work of sharing their stories and exploring different ways of thinking and feeling are exactly those whom I am ready to walk beside to do sometimes hard, and always rewarding, work.

I work well individually with adults or children/adolescents, as well as families and couples. I also enjoy working with the LGBTQIA population immensely. I aim to create an environment that radiates safety, security, acceptance and fosters growth. I try to use an integrative approach based on the needs of my clients who have experienced different trauma from sexual/physical abuse, family conflict, grief and many others. We are all individuals living a human experience while trying to exist in a system or number of systems. I have a deep sense of empathy, compassion and sensitivity of anyone dealing with mental health challenges.

My counseling theories most often practiced include solution-focused, cognitive behavioral therapy, reality therapy, family systems, and client-centered. However, techniques used are drawn from different counseling perspectives in order to meet the clients' individual needs and strengths. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
