*I am not currently accepting new clients* I believe that every person comes into therapy with a unique set of strengths. I am passionate about working with adolescents and adults who are members of the LGBTQ* community. I have experience providing services to individuals questioning their gender identities and/or sexual orientations. Mental health, much like sexuality and gender, exists along a spectrum. Things fluctuate and shift along that spectrum, and that can cause struggle. I aim to help you navigate that struggle and build skills to feel more confident as you work toward improved wellness.

I provide individual and group psychotherapy to adolescents and adults. My work with children is specific to gender identity. My clinical work is focused on eating disorders, gender identity, LGBTQQ+ concerns, multicultural counseling, survivors of sexualized violence and trauma. I work with clients through a social justice and holistic health lens that emphasizes the inseparable connection between our mind, body, and environment. My approach to therapy is strength-based and client centered rooted in cultural humility. I incorporate mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and other evidence-based techniques depending upon the goals of each client.

My primary goal in doing psychotherapy is for my clients to have more choices and spontaneity in their lives as well as greater satisfaction. I want to help alleviate suffering, whether generated from past traumatizing experiences or from current experiences. I believe that we all have many answers and great potential inside us, but often are blocked from accessing our own wisdom so that we only function on a modest amount of potential. It gives me great joy to help my clients find their own answers and discover problem-solving abilities.

Therapy can be different things to different people. Some want a sounding board or maybe they need help navigating a difficult life-transition. For others, the idea of talking to a stranger about their troubles can be downright terrifying, or may even feel shameful. Well, there is nothing too terrible or shameful to talk about. The therapy I practice is about helping my clients to see themselves and their circumstances in new ways. It's about restoring a full range of expression. It's about expressing long stored-up negative emotions and traumas. It's about releasing the shame.

Whether struggling with mental health, grief, a traumatic experience, or the pressures of life in this fast-paced world, all of us deserve to be seen, heard, understood, and to live fulfilling and healthy lives. This can seem an impossible mountain to climb when we find ourselves deep within a valley of despair. It is OK to ask for help. I am a mentor with shelves of tools, some of which will fit the life you want to go out and have; others which may not meet your style. An ideal relationship will give you client room to open yourself to thoughts and feelings and learn what you want and need and how to express that in healthy ways

I work with adolescent through adult clients and tend to specialize in working with LGBTQIA2S+ individuals and families. I approach the therapy space with radical acceptance and usually see clients who are facing depression, anxiety, and trauma related issues.

I specialize in working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse, as well as other forms of trauma. I love to work with folks to break down the issues that gender-based and sexuality-based oppression brings into our lives.

Relationships are the cornerstone of human life. When relationships have been conflictual or traumatic, or when an important person is lost, current relationships can be impacted and feelings of depression and anxiety can emerge. Parenting can be particularly difficult when feelings of depression, anxiety, and trauma reminders show up, and I specialize in supporting parents in managing their own mental health, particularly during pregnancy and the early parenting years. Though supporting parents is of interest to me, I am passionate about supporting people from all seasons of life in navigating depression, anxiety, and trauma.

I am a therapist because I consider it an honor to be allowed the opportunity to support someone in achieving their goals and creating the life they wish to live. My practice has typically focused on supporting individuals navigating the effects of trauma, the impact of gender-based violence (ex. sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking), anxiety, depression, grief/mourning, relationship challenges, and gender exploration. In session I primarily use Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) which utilizes mindfulness , values exploration, personal introspection, & out of session action, in addition to other best practices.

If you are someone who feels different, misunderstood, like you don't "belong"; who constantly feels like you do not have permission to be yourself; who suffers from anxiety, mood disorders, dissociation, or personality disorders, I want to help you feel seen, heard, worthy, and accepted. I use a Strengths-Based approach to help you find and feel the permission to be yourself, and through such, be able to heal the symptoms of mental illness that have presented themselves in your body and in your life.
