Our typical clients are those with issues of sexual dysfunction. This includes those with issues of sexual desire, arousal, orgasm, pain, satisfaction, or out-of-control sexual behavior/addiction. Most of my clients are from a conservative religious background, but this is not a must. We see clients that have a range of personal beliefs and values. We meet regularly with individuals and couples. Meeting as a couple is not a must. Individuals dealing with sexual dysfunction or out-of-control sexual behavior/addiction that are not in a committed relationship are also welcomed in treatment. We also have a Spanish speaking therapist.

I utilize various therapeutic approaches to assist my clients. Some of the approaches I use are psychodynamic, person-centered therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and narrative therapy. I work with people of all genders, orientations, ethnicities, races, and religions. I offer individual, couples, and family therapy. Some of my areas of special interest and ongoing expanding expertise include anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, low self-esteem, relationship/marital issues, grief, sex therapy, understanding sexuality, open/ Polyamorous relationships, transgender/gender non-conforming individuals, and faith crisis/ transition.

Finding the right counselor can be a difficult task. Therapists are a lot like shoes, there are so many to choose from. Some will fit you and some won’t, but once you find the pair that fits just right, then you can run faster than ever before. That is why it is helpful to use the first few sessions to “try on” the therapeutic fit with a new counselor and see how it feels. In my office, the first few sessions I focus on trying to understand more of your story and where you’re at, then to assess together how therapy can be most helpful so we make sure you’re getting what you’re looking for out of therapy.

As a therapist, I am passionately engaged in helping others reach their unique quality lifestyle. I focus on relational therapy, family therapy and neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC affirming therapy, and systemic sex therapy. I also address concerns such as depression, anxiety, autism and ADHD. I specialize in treating adults experiencing the effects of faith-related issues and/or sexual issues. Sex therapy may include addressing sexual shame, LGBTQ+ issues, anxiety, relationship issues, sexual dysfunction, libido differences, and sexual trauma. I am affirming of queer, non-monogamous (ENM, polyamory, etc), and kinky clients. Faith/religious issues may include faith transitions, mixed-faith marriages, excessive guilt, OCD tendencies, and limiting core beliefs. I am affirming of clients' personal values related to their faith, wherever they are on the spectrum of belief.

Over the years, I have developed my gift of diagnosis which helps me to understand my patients in an accurate and easy to understand manner for them. Then we grieve together the past and implement interventions and boundaries for a healthy future. Psychotherapy is proven to be more enduring than drug therapy, and my approach towards treating my patients is to avoid medication where possible.

Trying to heal can be a lonely and hidden journey. Why open up if you will be judged or condemned? Seventeen years ago, I met a therapist who didn’t judge, and I knew he genuinely cared. I felt it! His genuine compassion, despite my flaws, made me realize healing is possible! From that point on, healing became my passion; it felt contagious. Helping others feel safe, heard, understood, and non-judged. Caused me to change my business career after getting my MBA, to get a 2nd Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy.
