Our typical clients are those with issues of sexual dysfunction. This includes those with issues of sexual desire, arousal, orgasm, pain, satisfaction, or out-of-control sexual behavior/addiction. Most of my clients are from a conservative religious background, but this is not a must. We see clients that have a range of personal beliefs and values. We meet regularly with individuals and couples. Meeting as a couple is not a must. Individuals dealing with sexual dysfunction or out-of-control sexual behavior/addiction that are not in a committed relationship are also welcomed in treatment. We also have a Spanish speaking therapist.

I am an AASECT certified sex therapist and psychotherapist specializing in marriage and family therapy. My husband, Dr. Mark Malan, are a husband-wife clinical team helping people to have better marriages, happier families, and more rewarding love lives. I provide marriage and sex therapy. I help people with low sexual desire, sexual pain, inability to orgasm, vaginismus, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and all the other sexual dysfunctions.

Therapy is akin to walking on sacred ground. I am passionate about helping clients achieve personal wholeness and the loving connections that they long for. One of the most difficult experiences we have in our lives is recognizing we need help. I believe in change! My goal is to give you hope when life appears hopeless. I work with a wide variety of relationship and mental health issues. I believe that attachment and our need for love is critical during every phase of life. I also feel that mental health problems, relationship issues and addictions arise when we bury our true feelings. Change can be scary and fear of the unknown causes us cling to what we know. I am here to help you to face your fears, make a plan, and move forward toward a better way of life.

I believe psychotherapy is the art of helping others to find inner peace and reach personal goals. Sadness, anxiety, anger and other non-peaceful feelings often result from trauma or difficult life events. How to deal with these feelings? It's very helpful to talk it over with, and get guidance from, someone who has insight and understanding -- and psychotherapy skills. This is what I consider to be my mission, to guide you toward resolving difficult situations and to improve your personal and relationship satisfaction -- and, to increase self-esteem, inner peace, confidence, and happiness.

I was born and raised in Utah Valley and I earned my master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University in California.

From the first session I work to understand your concerns and the direction you want in therapy. The direction and plan in therapy will be tailored to your specific needs. I am an integrative therapist primarily informed from Humanistic, CBT/ACT, Existential, and Gestalt therapy. I consider myself to be an active therapist, working to be fully present with you, while I ensure you have your space in sessions.

I manged LDS Family Services for 13 years and loved directing the 12-step Addiction Recovery Program in Michigan, New York and Pennsylvania. I've been recruited by multiple residential treatment centers, a hospital, a skilled nursing facility, and by an IOP program assessing and treating substance abuse and domestic violence.

Through the years I have worked with clients on a wide variety of issues. Over a year ago I added neurofeedback therapy to my practice and, primarily because of that skill, have recently had numerous clients with migraines, seizures, and adhd in addition to the more general relationship issues and specific problems such as, depression, anxiety, OCD. I am on the Department of Corrections Approved Provider List for treating sex offenders and also have extensive experience working with addictions of all kinds, including domestic violence and pornography.

I have worked with many populations including adolescents, children, homeless, couples, families and individuals. I have lived in the South Pacific including Hawaii and Tonga. I have also lived in California , Arizona, Washington and I currently live in Provo Utah. I have worked with a wide number of different cultures and people of different beliefs. I adhere to a humanistic model of Psychotherapy in that no one person is the same and everyone deserves to be treated with empathy. I focus on each individual's potential and stress of growth and self-actualization.

A broken heart is the root of most individual and relationship problems. The brains job is to reduce pain and numb the heart. I believe that you can learn all the coping skills in the world, however, if your heart is broken, those skills usually will not work. Once the heart feels soothed and understood then the mind may accept new solutions and skills.
