My approach as a therapist is to assist you in creating a felt sense of internal connectedness and strength, as well as connectedness to others, and to help reauthor narratives that help you feel embodied and authentic. I work primarily with queer, trans, neurodivergent, and non-monogamous individuals and couples. My work often focuses on healing trauma, gender identity exploration, navigating the intricacies of polycules or exploring non-monogamy, finding empowerment/healing through sex therapy, and how to find space for joy and connection while living under systemic oppression.

My specialties include addiction and recovery, relationship dynamics (couples, poly, open, kink), LGBTQIAA identity, family of origin, SPMI, sex work, and healing from trauma.
I believe the most important parts of therapy are trust and collaboration. You'll know immediately if the therapist is right for you. If you don't feel it, keep looking. There's a lot of us therapists out here and your time and self-work are important! Additionally, at our most vulnerable times in life, we need someone who will hold a safe space for us to approach our edges - the parts of us we tend to avoid or neglect. Addressing our 'issues' is intensely brave and can also be terrifying! I commend you for embarking on this journey and invite you to call me if my words resonate with your needs.

Depression, anxiety and trauma can make us lose sight of our strengths and desires, but that can change with the right support. My practice is grounded in being compassionate, non-judgmental, and giving you the necessary tools to bring balance to your mental health. Together, we’ll focus on changing life-patterns to improve general wellness, while also addressing the underlying causes of your problems.

I hold unflinching space for folks wanting to survive and thrive outside the norms. Quirky oddballs, freaky queers, radical rebels, whatever trail you're blazing, you'll be celebrated here. It's an intense time to be alive and it takes guts to be yourself in a world that is often unkind. You may be navigating understandably scary questions about who you want to be, how to reconnect with your partner, or where to find reprieve from overwhelming stress. You don't have to do it alone. I will skillfully hold the tough stuff, while also supporting you in sowing seeds of joy, pleasure, and resistance.

Sex Therapy

Who is sex therapy for?

Sex problems are common in relationships. Many people want a better sex life and want to feel loved and desired by their partner. It is difficult for couples to resolve sexual problems on their own because people often feel ashamed to talk about their sexual desires fearing they are not normal, when in fact a very broad range of preferences and behaviors are normal. A sex therapist can help clarify this and other matters.

Why do people need sex therapy?

Many people do not know how to talk about their erotic needs or their emotional needs, both of which are addressed in sex therapy. Couples often live with sexual difficulties for years before seeking help, and in that time, partners may experience so much disappointment and alienation that they may fear their problems mean they are incompatible. Once people experience disappointment, it is difficult to find resolution without help.

What happens in sex therapy?

People have many misconceptions about what takes place in sex therapy. First, it is a form of talk therapy in which partners discuss their sexual concerns; it does not involve touching or physical exploration of any kind. Sex therapy typically helps couples get comfortable talking to each other about sex so that, in the privacy of their home life, they can openly discuss their sexual desires and make decisions about what they want to do. Couples are typically assigned activities to do at home that build intimacy skills.

What kinds of problems do sex therapists treat?

Very often, partners differ in their degree of sexual desire and struggle over how often to have sex. Or they may have fights about porn use or have difficulty connecting sexually after one partner is unfaithful. Men may have problems with premature ejaculation. Women may find themselves struggling to become aroused or to achieve an orgasm. Sometimes partners feel like they have lost the sense of attraction to their partner. These are all common issues dealt with in sex therapy.
