The Institute for Ashe Movement (IAM) was created by founder, Dr. Marshall Lee to provide individual psychotherapy and therapeutic dance and movement to residents of New Orleans.

I have ten years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I also train master's and doctoral level student therapists at a local university to help clients confront any life challenges. Throughout my career, I have never met a truly "broken" person incapable of making positive changes, and I work collaboratively with my clients to resolve their unique issues. I intentionally keep a small practice to provide clients with dedicated and individualized attention. I return voicemail messages within 24 hours.

Although healing is a beautiful word, often it is difficult for survivors to find beauty in the process. The journey to healing can be difficult to say the least. Much of this is due to deviating from what has always been “normal,” experiencing resistance from loved ones when establishing boundaries and conditioning from society that taught us we are less than or not worthy. The truth is, the journey through healing can be beautiful. We can remind ourselves that we don’t owe anything to anyone except our self…that our journey, our pain, our peace- is no one’s to judge… Our goal is to help you learn to live unapologetically.

I am experienced with all ages, although heavily with adolescents and young adults. Having 38 overall years working with valued and unique individuals and families, I have historically been the youth minister, psychiatric nurse and therapist that seeks to strengthen and build upon my client(s) 's individual presentation so that they can truly emerge emotionally and/or behaviorally the sucessful person they/you were intended to be. Depression, Autism and ADHD,Adjustment, anxiety, abuse, trauma, PTSD ,inappropriate behavior and sexual issues are some of issues I've worked through with clients. I'm down to earth and easy to talk to.

I work with clients who are looking for new ways to cope with life, and seek to change the behaviors and thinking patterns that are no longer serving them. I believe that patterns that are arising in present day have their roots in learned behaviors and traumatic events from childhood. I specialize in codependency issues, substance use, abuse, dependence, and recovery. I also have experience in counseling clients with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder.

From the time I was young, I knew I cared. I knew I cared about people and wanted to help others experience more fulfilling lives and relationships. I didn’t realize at the time that I wanted those experiences for myself as well. My experience growing up in a family where addiction caused great pain had lead me to my own problematic relationships with people, food, money and religion. Now I care. I care about myself in ways that I never imagined possible before taking those first scary steps into my therapist’s office and asking for help. I care about your relationships too and I can help you experience life in a new way!

I enjoy working with adults, couples, and families, and I have experience treating a wide range of issues.
