I started off my career working with folks recovering from substance use disorders. Understanding that substances are not the problem, but the solution to the problem, my focus then became on underlying mental health issues that these clients had. I also provide couples counseling, premarital counseling, and individual counseling with presenting issues such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, grief, family issues, and spiritual issues. I also integrate Christian spirituality and spiritual formation into counseling sessions for clients who request this specialty. Ultimately, my desire is to journey with those who are hurting and broken to help them find true healing and hope.

Clients seek my help to navigate the struggles and difficulties that often revolve around intimacy/sexuality, family conflict, and personal identity. Those who desire to repair conflicts, reduce problematic (sexual, spiritual, emotional) patterns, establish healthier relationships, or heal trauma interfering with the present will align well. I earned my PhD in Clinical Sexology. This allowed me to professionally expand my practice from relational to deeply personal as sexuality impacts so much. Clients find this work highly valuable.

I believe that treatment is most helpful when provided in a safe environment that is free of judgments and filled with compassion and respect. I believe the majority of our troubles stem from our upbringing and the relationships we've had in our life, past and present. In order to heal, it is necessary to explore this. This will take time and will be difficult. We will learn coping skills along the way to manage life's ups and downs in a healthy way.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, who primarily sees adult populations, as well as couples/various dynamics. I believe in building a therapeutic relationship based on mutual respect and trust.
