Hello and welcome! I'm Heather Vinti, licensed therapist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and PhD in Public Health. In addition to my years of research in sexual health, I have received advanced training specifically in Sexual Health and Sex Therapy. All of this put together allows me to take a systemic view and connection-based approach to working with clients. I provide a non-judgmental, accepting, validating space for clients to be themselves and explore the ways in which they want to grow and heal.

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. I collaborate with clients so they can engage in self-exploration and practice skills grounded in their personal values. As a queer nonbinary, fat therapist, I believe in addressing intersecting identities and building a compassionate relationship that centers the client's distinct needs. I specialize in relationship and sex therapy and especially enjoy working with individuals and couples who are navigating changes in identity and sexual health. I have experience working with the impact of medical trauma and chronic illness on sexuality and exploration sexual and gender identity.

I work with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, and mood issues. I help persons and families address communication problems, unhealthy patterns, and rebuilding trust as well as relationship problems including infidelity and blended families and co-parenting. I work with and am welcoming of LGBTQ+ relationships, hetero relationships, poly relationships, kink, BDSM, and sex workers. Additional areas addressed include religious shame surrounding sexuality. I have completed graduate studies in religion and theology and assist persons in dealing with toxic religious wounds.

Intimacy/Sexual issues can be difficult to discuss and people are reluctant. In fact, many people struggle with feelings of inadequacy/lack of fulfillment in relation to their sexual experience. Sexual dysfunctions affect both men and women. My desire is to help people struggling with sexual problems and to help people live a more fulfilled intimacy/sexual life. I provide a non-judgmental place for people to safely articulate their concerns. I will help you figure out what is causing these struggles and help resolve them. In addition to sexual issues, I also work with people struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD and other issues.

Leslie provides person-centered, affirmative, yet directive psychotherapy for individuals and couples. She helps clients recognize and work through the “unfinished business” that sustains ineffective coping patterns. Clients learn to identify and respect negative coping strategies, as they were at one time necessary for life’s navigation. Through mindfulness and self-care, clients are empowered to practice new habits, improve interpersonal skills, and attain and sustain mutually nurturing relationships. Leslie specializes in trauma focused therapy where she guides adults through the process of healing from childhood abuse.

Conway Counseling & Wellness Center is a group private practice of practitioners with specialties in mental health and wellness including psychiatry. Our treatment is holistic and incorporates traditional counseling with wellness services such as art therapy, yoga therapy, hypnotherapy, mindfulness, and massage. A client with anxiety could benefit from individual counseling, family therapy, yoga, and massage. Another client working to minimize an addiction could receive individual and group counseling, yoga for 12 step recovery, and hypnotherapy. By offering a range of services we can customize treatment.

I primarily treat adults who are suffering from depression, anxiety, trama, PTSD, relationship issues, grief, bipolar disorder, and personality disorder.
