I work with individuals and couples 18 years and older experiencing challenges around sexuality, gender identity or gender roles, and within their relationships. I counsel from a framework of anti-oppression and intersectional feminism and I support people of all genders and sexual orientations. I am also happy to work with people in non-conforming relationships such as open relationships, swinging, and who are polyamorous. In addition, I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, and who are acknowledging their trauma. I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Alaska.

Caleb is Certified in the Treatment of Sexual Addiction, is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Ordained Minister, Certified Life Coach, with a Masters of Psychology in Counseling and a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. Caleb specializes in helping men work through sex addiction but provides counseling services for all kinds of addictions. He also works with clients that are struggling with anxiety, addictive behaviors, depression, PTSD, emotional abuse, mental abuse and trauma of various kinds. His passion is to provide a safe space for his clients and to walk hand-in-hand with them, guiding them through the healing process.

My name is Dr. Lisa Root. As of January 2021 I will only be seeing patients through telepsych due to the high rise of the Coronvirus-19, in our area.. Healing is possible! From my own personal journey, I've come to understand that healing is not always a straightforward process. It often comes in waves, presenting us with opportunities to revisit past hurts with a newfound sense of insight and understanding. Life is full of challenges, and it takes courage to navigate them. My style as a therapist can best be described as eclectic, as I draw from a variety of techniques and theoretical orientations. That being said I tend to be highly client centered, which means I assume clients are the authorities about their own systems. In therapy, it's my job to describe what the science of psychology has to offer given the presenting problem and my professional experience in the area. As the former clinical director of a community behavioral health in Anchorage, I have experience providing therapy to a range of ages including: children, youth, families and adults experiencing a variety of challenges. I work with youth who experience disruptive behaviors, acting out, and substance use. I provide care to individuals who have experienced trauma/ abuse, mood disorders, and the autism spectrum. I also provide forensic psychological evaluations for the court, and neuropsychological assessments illuminating an individuals treatment needs.

I specialize in work with clients who are dealing with grief, healing from abuse, navigating women’s issues, and struggling with anxiety, depression and other life and mental health concerns. I have a special love for working with those in the LGBTQ plus community, and am passionate about offering an inclusive and healing space for all.
