I believe that we can get stuck in the mire of hopelessness when we feel overwhelmed, or when our circumstances are more than we can handle. If you struggle with navigating your emotions, finding meaning/purpose, overcoming difficult or painful circumstances of the past (flashbacks, avoidance, fear, triggers) or even the present (arguments, emotional angst, numbness, irritation, anxiety, worry, hypervigilance), I want to support you. I specialize in anxiety; depression; eating disorders; relational issues; sex therapy and education, as well as helping folks work through general/sexual trauma using somatic or body-centered methods.

Therapy can allow you to identify and remove blocks inhibiting change, help you make more intentional choices by offering deeper awareness of your perspective, and/or help you construct coherency or a different view of issues that are plaguing you. While I enjoy working with clients of varying backgrounds and ages (and all are welcome in my practice), I specialize in working with those who are suffering from anxiety, trauma, complex trauma, sex- and sexuality-related concerns, and who are aged 15+. My work with clients has included addressing depression, anxiety, self-esteem and identity concerns as well as the social/emotional challenges that accompany ADHD, Autism and other disabilities. As a self avowed ‘nerd therapist’ with ADHD myself, I am passionate about working with fellow nerds, outcasts, artists or creatives who may feel out of sync with a mainstream approach. I am particularly adept at assisting clients in identifying their strengths and talents and applying them toward career, educational and other life goals. I am sex positive and endeavor to be an ally to LGBTQ+, poly and kink communities.

My job as a therapist is to support, engage with empathy and wonder, offer hope, and acknowledge the stories and experiences clients express as they reflect.

I enjoy working with couples and families to help build communication, foster safety and strengthen connections. I also value my work with adolescents as they navigate difficult changes, whether it be addressing childhood trauma, life cycle changes or grief and loss. My integrative approach allows me to work systemically, whether with individuals, couples and families.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I utilize Evidence-Based, Integrative, Humanistic approaches grounded in Mindfulness to guide my work in couples therapy.
