My grandfather used to tell me: “Write your life in pencil for it will surely change”. While we can be certain that our life and circumstances will change throughout life, what we can rely on is our ability to adapt. I view counseling as an opportunity to help you figure out how to adapt to the curveballs life throws at us. I can help you learn new coping skills, gain a fresh perspective, or provide a listening ear, I believe that you too can adapt. I have experience in areas such as depression, anxiety, adjustment, oncology, chronic illness, and grief and loss.
As a counselor certified in thanatology (the study of death, dying, and bereavement), I recognize that the grief process is not just for death-losses. Non-death losses such as a loss of a way of life, loss of a job, loss of a relationship, and many more can trigger grief.
Whatever it is that brings you to therapy, I will use my skills to help you make more sense out of what is going on. Together, we can help you process whatever it is - grief, depression, anxiety, relationships - and adapt so that the days ahead feel a little lighter.
