Each person is doing the very best they can. Within you are strengths I want to build on. Working together we will come up with strategies tailored to you. I work with military families, couples, adults, teens, and foster youth with various challenges (ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar, social difficulties, etc.) I provide private pay reintegration/reunification counseling.
It's a honor to get to know a person, their joys, and their story while helping them process past and present hurts. I believe therapy is the process in which to examine thoughts, behaviors, and emotions in a safe and supportive environment. I strive to provide a balance of support and challenge to be effective in helping people make the changes they desire.
I use a client-centered hybrid approach drawing from models/skills such as solution focused, cognitive behavioral therapy, structural therapy, DBT, emotionally focused, and others. Homework assignments are given to ensure progress is experienced outside of therapy and maintained after our work is complete. Doing homework is essential to change.
