It can be hard to see the world change around you, wishing you could take part in the happiness and growth, but you feel like you can't move forward. Loneliness, tragedies, illness, and unexpected events can leave us stuck in our tracks. I became a clinical social worker to help people know that they are not alone, and I am honored to be on their side.
I have been helping folks in Texas navigate mental illness, trauma, and major life transitions for over 15 years, and believe that every person needs to have someone in their corner as they walk through life's toughest moments.
When we start we begin with your safety and resources in mind. I like to get to know you and your experience before we dive into problems or diagnoses. When we've established rapport and you're ready we'll unpack the reasons you came to therapy. Then, we'll develop a treatment plan that feels align with your values and goals.
I take a person-centered approach. I stay focused on what your experience has been, validating and understanding your hardships and perspectives. My job is to help you tap into the unique strengths that lie within you. I also draw upon techniques from MI, DBT, and CBT to unlock possibility. If you have a faith practice I welcome it in therapy as support.
