I've worked with adolescence and families for around 25 years in a variety of settings. These settings include being a youth / children's pastor prior to starting my counseling journey. Much of my experience involves working with those that struggle with abuse, depression, relationship conflict, self harming behaviors, legal issues, and behavior problems. Although I am licensed to practice counseling through the State of Texas, I am a Christian and the fundamentals of my practice are in line with traditional Christian faith.

I believe in the process of therapy. Safety is essential at every age. My goal is to provide a safe place for children and teens in the foster care system to process and work through trauma based issues. I also see clients in my private practice.

I know it can be difficult to find someone you really feel safe with, who you can trust, who won't judge you. I'd be honored to be that person. As someone who works with the whole person, I understand the importance of religion within all faith groups. I also love working with those who identify as poly, LGBTQIA+, and in the kink community. I’m a fan of helping my clients to relax, unwind, and feel as though they have a safe space to unapologetically BE and take up the space that they are meant to take up in this world (finding your mountain of strength). I’ve been in healthcare for 10 years, with 5 of them being in the mental health and therapy space. I love working with adults with mood disorders, fighting the good fight with depression, anxiety and stress, but even more specifically BIPOC females in healthcare and administration in need of the additional support to manage life’s transitions.

As a therapist, I get excited about the opportunity for change in a person’s life. I take a holistic approach, considering the many factors that affect a client’s mental and emotional state, not just the presenting problem. My goal is to connect with a person in such a way that allows me to understand the influences - family, friends, environment and medication - that contribute to their specific situation. My background as a Licensed Professional Counselor, certified teacher and school counselor, as well as working for 16+ years with at-risk individuals, from four years to adult, allows me to treat a wide range of clients.

Being a parent is hard, and I am here to help. I love working with children and teenagers. I have worked in the public school system providing counseling and educational evaluations for upwards of two decades. I have helped numerous kids develop higher senses of self-esteem and self-awareness by equipping them with tools to regulate their emotions and work toward educational and career goals.

My goal is to help individuals to get through their emotional problems and traumatic experiences and to heal the pain they feel. I believe in a close connection of body, mind and spirit and think that counseling can very well be approached from this perspective.
