I utilize humanistic and existential modalities and a non-medication focused approach to guide my therapeutic process.

My goal as a therapist is to provide clients with a safe and supportive environment while encouraging and promoting them to grow mentally, intellectually, psychologically, socially and spiritually to reach their optimal potential of autonomy. I provide psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults. I am experienced in working with individuals with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Marital counseling, divorce grief, anxiety, depression, PTSD, relationship/family counseling, grief, and spiritual counseling. I also provide mentoring and academic tutoring for children and adolescence.

I have had the opportunity for the last 20 years of working with children, teens, adults, and families around the country in various roles along my career. I have been a practicing clinician since 2013, having obtained my graduate degree and training from Michigan State University, School of Social Work. I have been successful in helping individuals in identifying strengths and weaknesses to aid in addressing the presenting set of problems.

Penny Lantz has 30+ yrs of rich experience evaluating & treating children (birth on up) as well as teenagers. I also support adults/parents. I will complete a comprehensive evaluation which will allow you & I to look at what your child needs & how to best meet these needs. I also have experience dealing with the medical field and school systems. I can help you navigate these systems to make sure your child/student needs are successfully met. As a psychotherapist, I will support you & your child through sessions which may include individual, 1 on 1 psychotherapy, family or couples counseling. Child sessions will include play therapy.

*Now offering ADHD evaluations* My goal is to provide a relaxed environment where you feel free and supported to explore your thoughts and feelings. I work to help you recognize your true emotions that may be hiding behind initial reactions of defensiveness or anger. Together, we can identify maladaptive patterns of behavior that may be contributing to symptoms of depression or anxiety, or that may be creating barriers to communication. Identification of these patterns provides the opportunity to change them and ultimately find more joy in experiences, intimacy in relationships, and the ability to communicate effectively.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Development Plan Approved Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, I believe in “meeting the person where they are at” in their lives to ensure therapy is specific to what is needed. I believe in a holistic approach to therapy which focuses on balancing work life, home life, relationships, and so on.
