Our bodies are not the only parts of ourselves that need a tune up from time to time. The mind is a powerful tool that can benefit from support and encouragement. Whether it's a job change, loss, relational issues, living with physical pain or just day-to-day stress, a supportive ear can mean the difference between just getting through the day and living the life that you long for. I have experience working with many clients especially those with eating disorders, depression and anxiety disorders including OCD. Art therapy is helpful for those who have difficulty expressing difficult thoughts and feelings or are drawn to metaphor and symbols. ACT focuses on learning acceptance with an emphasis on mindfulness and commitment towards values to work toward being the person you want to be despite life's obstacles.
I am passionate about what I do and would love to talk with you about how I may be a good candidate for you or those you care about. Those topics include Values, Committed Action, Self as Context, Present Moment, Defusion and Acceptance. If you struggle with using your thoughts and emotions as a compass and would like to pursue actions inline with your values, you will benefit from this group.

This 6 week group is designed to compliment the Intro to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Group that will run the day before this one. Group members are encouraged to attend both groups, unless they have prior knowledge of the 6 core concepts in ACT. This group will include art therapy directives that emphasize each of the topics discussed earlier that night. Directives will be based on the metaphors established in ACT. Email to sign up!
