Therapy is a journey that can be beneficial for people at any stage of life; whether it's to adjust to parenthood, overcome fear, process loss, build self esteem, practice more self care, reduce anxiety, or to simply have a safe space to talk about the beauty and hardships in life. I am here for you and with you at whatever stage of life you may be in. I believe in the importance of having a strong and trusting relationship with your therapist. You can expect to always be met with empathy, understanding, and kindness when meeting with me. I believe that when relationships are strong, change is even stronger.

You who are highly sensitive and feel a lot, welcome! You'll explore more deeply with me than in traditional talk therapy. You’ve likely tried psychotherapy before but have noticed that the work has either gone nowhere or taken you only so far, or you felt misunderstood. With an uncanny and intuitive ability to really “get” people from many walks of life, I will invite you to go beneath your thoughts, connect with your body and emotions, and gently access the root of your emotional discomfort and hurts to facilitate noticeable shifts with each session.

Does it feel like you are just going through the motions? Are you struggling to connect with meaning and purpose in your life? Are you ready to make changes in your life but don't know where to start? If you feel blocked from reaching your full potential, or like the life you dream about is a world away, you're not alone. Being shaken from the path is a normal part of the human experience. However, re-finding your way can build you up stronger than ever. I believe that the counseling relationship is a deeply human and healing connection that reawakens ambition, purpose, and belonging.

First we will talk about your concerns and ways you’ve already tried to address your issues. During the evaluation we will create a plan that will address your current situation with respect to your history. As we evaluate patterns we can work to understand and reprocess any traumatic memories. Together we can build a connection based on trust and honesty. Your confidence will improve as we practice using creative tools and new skills. As you move forward, sessions can be scheduled at comfortable intervals to provide ongoing, affordable support for as long as you need.

Are you feeling stuck and need some guidance for growth? I won't offer band-aid solutions, only lasting and meaningful change. Therapy to me is a process of identifying and understanding who you are and where you want to go. I want to journey with you to the deeper levels of your struggles and find the light. The arrow is a powerful symbol to me that represents the growth we are capable of. In order for an arrow to aim forward, it must be pulled back with the bow to gain strength.

I’m proud of you for taking the step to start looking for help, I think you are super brave. I know that the idea of starting therapy can be intimidating and scary. Therapy is highly stigmatized and we’re taught from a young age that asking for help is a sign of weakness. However, I believe that taking this step shows immeasurable strength. I am here to walk hand-in-hand with you while shedding light on what you are struggling with; to help you see the greatest parts of yourself and work through the depths of your pain.

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
