Are you a young adult woman experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, and even trauma? Self-discovery and creating/finding identity are goals I work best with. In my most recent job, I have found that domestic violence survivors and women who experience issues specific to being a woman have piqued my interest. As a therapist, the most rewarding thing is to guide women toward embracing themselves for who they are, heal past wounds, and empower them to live fully and authentically. I believe I have been given a purpose in this world to serve others, and that's what I was created to do.

My ideal client is an individual who is open to working as a team and benefiting from a therapeutic relationship in which honesty, accountability, and empathy are paramount. While a client’s concerns are unique and personal, there is nothing they cannot overcome through effective therapeutic interventions and a highly-trained and relatable clinician.

My ideal client is the person who feels stuck and unsure of themselves and their next move in life. They don't know where they fit in. Constant overthinking and worrying, poor self-esteem, people-pleasing tendencies and depressed mood. If this describes something that you are going through, you don't have to go through it alone. I work with men and women from an attachment lens, which is a therapy word for saying that I focus on your early childhood years and how they impacted your daily life. If you find yourself overanalyzing the amount of work you put into your relationships and feel you give more than you're receiving, we can work through how to get you to a secure place within yourself without seeking external validation from others.

Through counseling, you will be able to heal and embrace your true self by recognizing your strengths. I will be your partner in this journey.

Do you feel stuck in the past unable to let go no matter how hard you try? Perhaps you feel more anxious then you'd like every day- struggling with overwhelm, irritation, or maybe even perfectionism. Maybe you feel that nothing you ever do is good enough, and your self esteem could improve. Has depression made it nearly impossible for you to get things done or even go to work some days? Are your relationships suffering and you don't understand why or how to improve them? These (and more) are concerns I can help with. Let me offer a ear to listen and some tools so you can feel self empowered to create long lasting changes!

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
