It takes immense strength to share your story and it is my goal to honor this vulnerability by fostering a therapeutic space of warmth and collaboration. Experiencing life transitions, relational conflicts, anxiety, or impaired self-esteem are not challenges that need to be faced in isolation.

I have experience working with couples, individuals, and families with an emphasis on communication, rebuilding trust, intimacy, anxiety, depression, trauma, and body-image/self esteem concerns.
Do you ever find yourself saying "It is not supposed to be this way"? At times we have all felt lost in life, or found ourselves in a place we do not wish to be. Whether it be at the hands of trauma, loss of self-esteem, familial discord, or failed relationships, sometimes we all need some guidance getting back to our best version of ourselves.

Anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and trauma are all issues that keep a person from living the life that they truly want to live; or keep a couple from connecting on a level that maybe they use to; or keep a family from relating and understanding each other. Whatever issues arise, I pride myself in helping people navigate through these issues which can help them create and step into the life they desire.

I have a passion for helping women navigate the complexities of low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and dependency traits. I firmly believe that within each of us lies an innate understanding of who we are, but life's challenges—be it societal pressures, trauma, or other influences—often obscure this truth. Together, we will embark on a journey to dismantle the limiting beliefs that hinder your progress, rediscover your authentic voice, establish healthy boundaries, and manifest the life you envision.

My idea as a psychotherapist is to provide safe, comfortable & judgment-free environment for clients to work through issues. My role as a psychotherapist is to respect the goals that my clients come in with, and support the process of working toward these goals. I believe Psychotherapy can enhance one's self-awareness and the ability to recognize in one's own self-defeating and self-sabotaging patterns, and to change these patterns.

I tend to work well with someone who yearns for understanding. Someone who may crave social interaction, but is not quite sure how to go about it. Someone who is developing their identity and consolidating their sense of self. Someone who wants more out of life but is not quite sure how to get it. Someone who feels lost and plagued with self-doubt. Someone who is not sure why they engage in the same self-defeating behaviors over and over and over. I am open to working with a wide diversity of clients who represent various sexualities, ethnicities, racial identities, genders, and ages.

Sometimes life comes at you fast. Unexpected events occur or transitions happen. That's what makes life exciting, but also challenging at times. Whether it be a job transition, adjusting to a new family, relationship issues or trying to find your way as a parent during the teenage years (or navigating life as a teenager yourself!), these experiences can often cause stress in our lives. As a result, you might find yourself not sleeping well, feeling anxious, experiencing low self-esteem, anger and sadness. You often wonder, when will everything get better and I'll feel like myself again?

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
