I work with individuals who do not want to have a religious element or the supernatural introduced into their therapy. I have worked with people recovering from Religious Trauma Syndrome, and coming out of toxic, abusive, and hyper religious backgrounds. People that are making transitional adjustments after being involved in religious and political cults have special challenges that can be effectively addressed in therapy.
I am a strength based therapist using cognitive based approaches. I frequently draw inspiration from ancient Greek and Roman Stoic Philosophy and the Socratic Method of Dialogue, which I think of as the original inspiration for modern cognitive based approaches to psychotherapy, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
