My name is Dr. Sean Meyer, and I am a licensed professional clinical counselor in the state of California. As a doctoral-level clinician, I enjoy working with my clients from a collaborative approach, that is, exploring and identifying their priorities for our sessions together and helping them achieve the goals they've identified. My preferred therapeutic approaches and these depend greatly on the client I am working with, are cognitive behavioral (CBT) and solution-focused therapies. I enjoy working with most age groups (18+) and those presenting with depression, anxiety, stress, and sexual/gender challenges.
I would hope that my clients find my communication style and overall tone in sessions to be one of non-judgment and empathetic to their needs. I've always enjoyed helping other people :) I believe that my clients play a vital role in the development of the goals they want to address in our sessions.
During a first session, my clients can expect to share a little about what brings them to treatment, development of a treatment plan, and in most cases, a homework assignment to start the process off.
